The South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to preserving your privacy. This Privacy Statement sets out how we collect, disclose, and store your personal information.

Security
The Chamber takes its data storage and website security seriously and always endeavours to provide a safe platform on which to conduct online transactions. No data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be fully secure.  This is undertaken at your own risk.

How we Collect Information
We collect personal information from you when you register an account, book an event, make a payment on our website, use our services, complete a survey, or contact us about services, and from the way we manage your account and your use of our services.

Registration Forms
In order to use certain services, you will need to create and register an account on the website by completing registration forms that require you to submit contact information (like your name, email, and postal address).
Registrations for BA5’s and other hosted/sponsored events are shared with the host/sponsor.
Business cards collected for prize draws are shared with the hosts/sponsors of the event.

Surveys and Subscriptions
The website contains online surveys requesting contact information (like your name, email, and postal address).

Photographs and Images
From time to time, photographs of members taken at Chamber events may be used in promotional material for the organisation, please advise the Chamber if you do not wish for your image to be used.

Payments

All transactions are billed in $NZ (New Zealand Dollars). This website uses SSL and does not store credit card information. How We Will Use Your Information
We will use the personal information you provide to us, for the purposes of providing our services to you, including:

  • registering and managing your account
  • communicating with you, including in relation to the services we provide, or any associated matter.
  • marketing and business analytics

We also share your personal information with our Alliance/National Partners, other Chamber members, employees, contractors, and IT service providers we use to provide our services.
There may also be circumstances where we are required to disclose personal information by law, for example, to governmental or regulatory authorities.

Special Relationships
The Chamber may provide your contact details to Alliance/National Partners to ensure you gain full benefit from membership offers. In such cases, the Alliance/National Partners are then responsible for keeping your information safe and secure.
As per the Privacy Act 1993 please advise if you wish your details to remain private.

The Chamber Membership Agreement Terms & Conditions

Membership of the Chamber of Commerce offers benefits for your whole team.
In becoming a member of the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce, your business agrees that:

  • This membership agreement does not have an expiry date written into it. i.e. Continues on for the following year automatically unless a resignation is received.

  • Membership subscriptions are payable annually, with the first subscription due upon signing.

  • Subsequent annual subscriptions are payable by the 20th of the month following each anniversary of membership.

  • Members agree to be bound by the constitution and contractual conditions of the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce (The Chamber) and the following specific terms and conditions. A copy of our constitution can be requested.

  • Annual subscription payments are based on each member's total staff numbers.

  • Resignations must be in writing within four weeks of the annual anniversary date. Members resigning after this period are liable for subscriptions for that year. Members are liable for any costs incurred by The Chamber in recovering payment of outstanding accounts.

  • Information provided by The Chamber is for the confidential use by that member for the business covered by the subscription.

  • The Chamber has the right to decline membership. This application is subject to approval by the Chamber Board.

  • From time to time photographs of members taken at The Chamber events will be used in promotional material for the organisation.

  • All information held on the database relating to this membership is confidential and shall only be used by The Chamber in relation to the services provided by The Chamber.

  • We may provide your business details to Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce, Alliance Partners and other Chamber members from time to time as part of Chamber related activities.
