The Employment Process

Recruiting and Inductions Process

Business owners often find hiring staff a difficult process, not least because of the difficulties that result from employing the wrong person.

By the end of this workshop you will have learnt a range of techniques to help you select the right person for the job.

You will know how to structure an interview and how to develop interview questions that minimise the risk of employing the wrong person. Having an effective ‘on-boarding’ or induction process will ensure the new staff member is quickly and effectively integrated into the current team.

Through practical examples and exercises you will learn:

  • Reviewing job requirements
  • Prepare for the interview
  • Create an interview plan
  • Developing accurate selection criteria
  • Developing effective interview questions
  • Arrange the interview environment
  • Building rapport
  • How to structure your interview interviewing techniques;
  • Conduct the interview
  • The what and how of reference checking
  • Induction programmes and early review for new recruits.
  • employment law relating to recruitment

 In addition, each participant will receive a set of interview templates, which will have immediate practical value and serve as a continuing guide.
