Employment Law for Managers & Business Owners

This short workshop will cover legal employment obligations and basic employment law for all Managers and Business Owners. No matter how many employees you have you must comply with employment law and be confident in effectively applying it with your employees.

  • Personal grievances and exit strategy

  • The Holidays Act – overview of obligations

  • Dealing with all types of leave such as sick leave, annual, bereavement and public holidays

  • Restructuring, Redundancy and Dismissals

 

This course is designed for Managers with people responsibilities or those new to managing people. Administration staff who have HR responsibilities or want to build Employment Relations capability would also benefit. 
This course is essential for those who are new to employing staff.
The course will also appeal to experienced HR assistants, advisors or business partners who wish to keep up to date with the latest in the employment legislation space.  It is useful for anyone who wants to know how to comply with employment related law and those who have to develop policies and procedures to manage risks in the workplace.

Cancellations and Refunds

1. Cancellations must be advised in writing or by telephone at least three full working days prior to the date of the course or event.
2. All cancellations and refunds will incur a $30.00 + GST administration fee to cover the costs.
3. If we do not receive a cancellation notice within three full working days prior to the course or event commencing, or if a participant fails to show on the day, full fees will be payable.
4. Requests to transfer to a later course can be made, subject to availability and approval. If participants are able to transfer to a later course the administration fee is waived. This request must be made at least three working days prior to the original course or event.
5. A replacement participant is welcome at any stage prior to the course or event commencing at no additional cost. Please provide us with the details as soon as possible.
