Contractor Management

This course looks at the requirements for PCBUs (persons conducting a business or undertaking) who are sharing a workplace with other businesses or are working as part of a contracting chain.

  • How do you meet your duties under the Health and Safety at Work Act?
  • What are your contractual obligations when working with other PCBUs?
  • You must consult, cooperate and coordinate with other PCBUs when working in a shared workplace or as part of a contracting chain.
  • You can’t contract out of health and safety duties.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the key components of contractor management under the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • Recognise Health and Safety obligations PCBU's have when contracting out services.
  • Grasp considerations a PCBU must take when engaging and managing contractors.
  • Prepare a contract that includes Health and Safety considerations.
  • Conduct a review of a contractor's Health and Safety performance.

Helen has extensive health and safety experience, including over 20 years as a health and safety consultant, as well as significant in-house experience within both the public and private sector.

Cancellations and Refunds

1. Cancellations must be advised in writing or by telephone at least five full working days prior to the date of the course or event.
2. All cancellations and refunds will incur a $50.00 + GST administration fee to cover the costs.
3. If we do not receive a cancellation notice within five full working days prior to the course or event commencing, or if a participant fails to show on the day, full fees will be payable.
4. Requests to transfer to a later course can be made, subject to availability and approval. If participants are able to transfer to a later course the administration fee is waived. This request must be made at least five working days prior to the original course or event.
5. A replacement participant is welcome at any stage prior to the course or event commencing at no additional cost. Please provide us with the details as soon as possible.
6. In house training requires 10 days notice otherwise full fees need to be paid.
