BA5 March - St John
St John is a charity and despite the amazing community support we receive to help fund our emergency ambulance service, we still have a funding shortfall of a whopping $57,000 a day in the South Island region.
On March 21, as part of Timaru’s Business After Five events, we will be opening the doors of Timaru station for tours, and our South Island Region fundraising manager Debbie Pipson will talk about Pay for a Day in May 2019. There will also be a chance to look around an ambulance, a demonstration of our new ELK lifting cushions and two first aid kits and two Level 1 first aid courses will be up for grabs.
A little more about Pay for a Day in May 2019 - Last year, our South Island Fundraising team came up with Pay for a Day in May initiative, which is part of St John’s Heart of Gold Annual Appeal and is a way for local businesses to join the community in helping support St John’s life-saving work. The idea is simple: From April 1 to April 30, we are asking you to join forces with businesses across your region to help us fill that $57,000 gap and sponsor a day in May.
