Cyber security sounds complicated and a little bit scary, like something that international spies should be handling and not you! But if you own a computer or use email, then cyber security is something you need to pay attention to, and it doesn’t need to be complicated or scary. Implementing some basic steps can take you a long way in securing yourself online.
In this webinar Maddy will introduce CERT New Zealand, a government agency set up in 2017 to respond to cyber threats around New Zealand that affect everyday people and businesses. Maddy will take us through CERT NZ’s unique service offering and share some of the highlights from the 2019 data. She will discuss some of the cyber issues we have seen as a result of covid-19 and how to protect yourselves. Maddy will provide easy actionable tips for securing yourself and your business online and for working remotely, as we are all currently doing.
The advice in this webinar won’t cost you thousands of dollars to implement, nor does it require a cyber security expert. However, implementing these very simple tips could stop you from being New Zealand’s next cyber statistic!
Topics to be covered:
- Intro to Cert NZ
- Brief statistics summary for South Canterbury
- Scams that are COVID 19 related
- Working safely from home – security measures
- 2 factor authentication
- Tips for business and cyber advice
- How to set staff up on devices
- Zoom conference calling – this is new for the COVID 19 era as so many using it now
- Q and A
