Business Mentoring for Existing Businesses

Business Mentoring Programme provides 12 months of confidential one-on-one advice for owners of small and medium-sized businesses who want to grow or need help to solve specific business challenges. 

Start-up Mentoring

Start-up Business Mentoring Programme provides six months of accelerated mentoring for people who have a new business idea or are looking for help in starting a new business.

Volunteer Mentors

If you’re an experienced business person who has faced opportunities or challenges and have an empathy for small business you can apply to become a volunteer Business Mentor.

Community Mentors Programme

The programme is designed for community organisations, not for profits, social enterprises, NGOs and both registered and un-registered charities who:

  • Want a fresh perspective, guidance or inspiration
  • Want help to market or grow their organisation
  • Want help to implement a change to their organisation
  • Want support or advice to deal with a particular challenge
  • Want a sounding board to help challenge their thinking, set new goals and achieve success

The process of obtaining a mentor is simple 

If your business employs fewer than 25 full-time employees and provides you with your primary source of income, with evidence of trading, you qualify to register for mentoring assistance.

  1. Register online at www.businessmentors.org.nz
  2. Complete an online registration
  3. Pay a one off $225 + GST registration fee (for one year's of registration)
  4. Your local agent will contact you to arrange your mentor match

And it is even easier to become a mentor -

  1. Complete the Business Mentor application form at www.businessmentors.org.nz selecting the areas of expertise and industry experience with which you are most familiar
  2. Your local agent will contact you to discuss your business and challenges. There are 18 Business Mentors New Zealand agencies throughout New Zealand.
