Events in Lockdown

The South Canterbury website has for the last 10 years proudly featured a wide range of local events and distributed a regular ‘What’s On in South Canterbury’ e-newsletter to some 3,000 subscribers. With the changes brought about by Lockdown and Level 4 restrictions the Chamber of Commerce decided that our community should not miss out. So, a virtual range of activities, events and workshops have been sourced and the links provided so our community stays connected.

During the Lockdown and until ‘normal transmission resumes’ there is heaps of great stuff to explore, to occupy the kids, the parents and the grandies.  The places you can now go from your own family bubble are extraordinary.  The events have been sourced and sorted and include sections for kids, local options and adventures, further choices from around New Zealand plus global exploration; a mystery box, foodie heaven, staying in shape and mindfulness.

These updated events are being updated and distributed every week, so if you’ve missed the Timaru Libraries or SC Museum, fancy a local fitness class, trip to San Diego Zoo or prefer to listen to the NZ Symphony Orchestra or take up the YMCA’s daily challenge, it is all here for your enjoyment.

Wendy Smith said “We are thrilled to be bringing our communities, our families, colleagues and friends such a wide range of opportunities while we all work together to fight Covid-19. We hope you enjoy our weekly treats and adventures.”
