Tomorrow looks promising for Auckland business as an increasing number of David’s are getting ready to take on the Goliath’s.

Auckland Chamber of Commerce CEO, Michael Barnett believes this year’s Westpac Auckland Central Business Awards have revealed an increasing number of small companies who are challenging the big players for a place in the market. Through the platform of technology, innovative business models, collaborations and partnerships, these small and medium businesses are adaptable and fast-growing.

“The Awards this year showcase the successes of small and medium businesses and give us an indication of the great things we can expect from them in the near future,” he said.

Twenty Auckland companies and three individuals have been selected as the finalists for the Westpac Auckland Central Business Awards 2013. The finalists in eight categories were announced on 4 September and include businesses across a wide spectrum of industries.

Westpac has been the primary sponsor of the Awards for the three years that they have been hosted by the Chamber.

“These awards showcase the best of the best in the Auckland Central business community, which is why Westpac is proud to be a supporter of the awards here and in other areas around the country,” says Andrew Smillie, Local Business Banking Area Manager, Westpac New Zealand Limited.

“This year’s finalists are a reflection of this outstanding local business hub, and we’re looking forward to unveiling the winners later this year.”

The category winners and the overall winner of the Westpac Supreme Business Excellence Award, will be announced at a black-tie gala dinner at the Langham, Auckland on Thursday 7 November. For further information and to register, please click here.
