Wendy Smith said “In response to an increasing number of enquiries relating to Information Technology and its applications, the SC Chamber and Vetta Technologies have worked together to bring this IT Forum together for South Canterbury businesses.”

The forum has been created to promote and enhance the understanding and application of IT across South Canterbury. The forum will run every couple of months featuring content that is useful to our business community.

Data from MYOB recently released showed 49% of small businesses in New Zealand are not online.

In 2014, 59% were not online and in 2013 it was 66%.

It is not just Kiwi small business either this issue has arisen all over the world from Ireland, to India, to the US.

The benefits of having even a simple website speak for themselves.

MYOB’s Business Monitor survey of 1000 small businesses shows almost 60% of small businesses that are online experience an increase in customer enquiries.

More than 50% say customers found it easier to do business with them and 31% saw revenue increase as a result of being online.

The first IT Forum is scheduled on Tuesday 11th October from 10-11am is “Understanding the Cloud”

Join the first IT Forum run by the SC Chamber of Commerce & Vetta Technologies to learn about Cloud Computing and what it might mean for your business.

The second session will cover “IT Security – The good, the bad & the ugly”
