On Thursday 29th September the SC Chamber of Commerce is holding its Annual Table Top Expo at the Landing Services Function Centre, opening at 5.30pm a wide range of Chamber members will showcase their services and products to both Chamber members and the general public. Entry is free and the SC Chamber is encouraging the general public to attend to see the very impressive range of products produced by a number of students.
This year the exhibitors are joined by a group of Year 10 Enterprise students from Roncalli College. These students are part of a programme delivered over 1 – 2 terms featuring units 'Enterprising Behaviours’ and ‘It's Business Time’. 15% of student profit goes to charity and these students have chosen to attend the Table Top as an extension to their course and in order to sell their products to a wider market.
Three of the seven Lion Foundation Young Enterprise teams will also be in attendance again showcasing and selling their products.
Wendy Smith CE of SC Chamber said “The S.C.Chamber is so proud to be able to coordinate the Lion Foundation Programme for South Canterbury, inspiring young people to discover their potential in business and in life. This is often the first real taste of business life for students, they learn how to collaborate and how to unleash their entrepreneurial spirit. We encourage the general public and the business community to attend the free expo and support our future business leaders.”
