Ecobase has taken out the National ‘start up of the year’ award for the 2021 YES Alumni Awards. Ecobase has continued on their entrepreneurial journey while attending university and expanded their environmentally friendly lip balm product range to four flavours. Ecobase continue to successfully trade both online and in 22 stores throughout New Zealand.
Timaru boys’ High School students, Josh Earnshaw, Mackenzie Annett, Jack Blakemore and Hamish Stayt created Ecobase and took part in YES, hosted by the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce in 2020. While attending the YES Gala Awards in December, they went on to win two National Excellence Awards. The National Excellence Award for Sales and Marketing and the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Award for Accounting and Finance. Josh Earnshaw was selected 3rd place for CEO of the year.
Ecobase have showed staunch perseverance and commitment throughout their YES journey and continue to inspire future leaders as YES Alumni.
