Business to do List:
All to do lists will differ depending upon the industry sector and the impact of Covid-19.
A business to do list is ultimately about checking your business’s health. You need to know where you are at and who can help you.
You are not alone in this crisis and it is important to stay connected. Phone the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce we are the Covid-19 business response team.
Talk to your bank, talk to your accountant and professional advisers and talk to your staff, your teams. Talk to your customers and clients. Talk to your landlord. The list is long …..
Prepare or update your business plans – this is a new normal. Review where your business is heading and how it will get there. New ways of working, new routes to market, new technology applications and new services and new costs.
Prepare and update cashflow plans and cash management. Cash is King and businesses need to be able to ride out this storm.
Seek advice and funding. There are lots of tools to help you. Check and access the governments funding packages (where appropriate) including the wage subsidy, the business advisory funding through the Chamber, the small business cashflow scheme and the loss carry back scheme.
Update your marketing plans on how to reach customers and how to provide effective services to them. Get on line, revitalize your website and get on Facebook or other social media channels that meet your needs.
Update or create a Health and Safety Covid-19 Plan so you can get back to work safely.
Support Local. Just as we ask the general public to buy local so should businesses. Wherever possible and appropriate support businesses within South Canterbury and Canterbury.
