The Auckland Chamber of Commerce is in Perth for the weekend looking for skilled employees to fill the thousands of roles available in Auckland associated with infrastructure, transport and building.
“Auckland has a wall of work arriving and an estimated 30,000 jobs over next few years in the construction and infrastructure industry sector alone,” said Chamber CEO, Michael Barnett.
The Chambers own quarterly survey has close on 40% of businesses saying they are having difficulty getting right people right skills.
Jobs are across the board – truck drivers, engineers, project managers, distribution, logistics, building installation and completion trades.
The Auckland Chamber is part of a New Zealand Jobs Expo being held in Perth this weekend as an opportunity to meet and recruit New Zealanders and expats who moved to Perth to take up jobs in the Western Australian mining industry but which is now impacted by a significant downturn.
