The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES)
South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce run the Young Enterprise Scheme in order to support the future young entrepreneurs of South Canterbury.
The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES), with The Lion Foundation as principal supporter, is administered in New Zealand by the Enterprise New Zealand Trust.
The scheme is a one year experiential business programme for young people, teachers and business people. Senior secondary school students form a company, become directors and develop products and services, which they market and sell. They implement a business plan, complete an annual report and make real profit or loss.

E-DAY - March 2, 2017
The first event of the regional calendar for the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme will be Enterprise Day (E-day), March 2, 2017, students will work in their company teams, get feedback from business coaches and meet their regional coordinator and the other YES students in the South Canterbury region. The event is designed to familiarise students with the programme and to set them in the right direction.
One of the most popular sessions of the day for students is the ‘speed business coaching’. Business people come in and move around the various company groups, spending around 5-10 minutes with as many groups as possible over a short period of time. The advice and feedback given is extremely valuable as the students set up their own businesses.
