Young Chamber Pizza Night @ Zest

Tuesday 21 February, 5.30pm - 7pm

To be held at: Zest, 4a Elizabeth St, Timaru.  Cost:  Free to attend, with pizza supplied courtest of Zest.   Cash bar available for drinks.

The Young Chamber Pizza night will feature guest speaker Tony Shaw, partner of Timpany Walton talking about the challenges of succeeding in the competitive service-based sector of business.  Tony’s law practice won the service category of the 2010 South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.  Register by emailing commerce@southcanterbury.org.nz

Institute of Directors Cocktail Function

Monday 12 March, 5.45pm - 7.45pm

To be held at:  The Grosvenor Hotel, Cains Tce, Timaru.  Free to attend.

The Chamber is joining with the Canterbury Branch of the Institute of Directors to host a cocktail function in Timaru, featuring guest speaker, Dr William Rolleston.  Dr Rolleston is managing director of biotechnology company South Pacific Sera, and he will share his governance experiences.  He is also South Canterbury President and National Vice President of Federated Farmers and chairman of the Ministry of Science and Innovation’s Innovation Board and a member of the Science Board.  To register email chamber@southcanterbury.org.nz

 

Deputy Prime Minister guest speaker luncheon 

Change of date and time - Wednesday, 14 March, 12pm - 1.30pm

To be held at: Ginger & Garlic, Stafford St, Timaru.  Cost:  $30 per person.  Cash bar available for drinks.

The Chamber is joining with Aoraki Development Business and Tourism and Rangitata MP Jo Goodhew in hosting the Deputy Prime Minister Bill English at this guest speaker luncheon,  on Friday, February 24.  The topic of the presentation is:  The Value of the regions to New Zealand's economy - the opportunities and the threats.

OfficeMax Chamber Golf Classic

Thursday 22 March, 12.30pm tee-off, Gleniti Golf Club. 

Members are encouraged to make the most of this purely social event on Chamber calendar, and make up a team of four from their office or bring along some clients.  The Golf Classic ends with dinner at the Clubhouse, and the prizegiving.  Registrations opening soon.
